A&BS Chair named as first Chair of Historic Environment Scotland

Jane Ryder, Chair of Arts & Business Scotland is to become the first Chair of Historic Environment Scotland (HES). The announcement was made by the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Fiona Hyslop MSP. Jane Ryder will take up the post for four years, joined by nine board members. Historic Environment Scotland is a newly established body which will investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s historic environment.

Chief Executive of A&BS, David Watt said: “Jane Ryder is without doubt an excellent choice for this prestigious role and myself, the staff and board at Arts & Business Scotland would like to offer our warmest congratulations. We are delighted for Jane and wish her every success in her role as Chair of Historic Environment Scotland.”
