Out of the Blue Arts & Education Trust (OOTB) is a charity providing studio space, rehearsal and meeting rooms on several sites to artists and creative organisations.

We’re looking for a part time Buildings Manager. Working 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE); they’ll be the operational point of contact between OOTB and studioholders, hirers and contractors, primarily based at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Leith.

The Buildings Manager will be working weekdays 9am to 5pm on a job-share rota basis with another Buildings Manager, primarily at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall, and at our other Edinburgh-based buildings as required. Working days/patterns to be mutually agreed.

We’re looking for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with studioholders, hirers and contractors. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for physically resourcing room and space bookings, including event set up, meeting and greeting bookers and completing a post-booking report.

Reporting to the Facilities and Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of part-time Duty Managers. They will also cover shifts with the job-share Buildings Manager and the Facilities & Operations Manager during unexpected Duty Manager absences or unavailability, this will include out-of-hours shifts.

Previous buildings or facilities management experience would be advantageous, as will prior experience in a customer or client facing role in a hire or events environment.

Hours: 30 hours per week (0.8% FTE). Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm) – pattern to be agreed.
