Description

The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh is looking for new Board Members to guide and support the ongoing delivery of the theatre’s wide range of artistic and educational activities.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh is the leading producing theatre in Scotland and one of the United Kingdom’s most prolific theatre companies.

With new Artistic Director James Brining and Executive Director Mike Griffiths, The Lyceum has continued to develop a reputation for innovative, artistically exciting, high-quality theatre, drawing upon the considerable talent in Scotland as well as developing award-winning work with national and international partners. These co-productions and collaborations represent a core strand of the company’s strategy to extend the life of The Lyceum’s productions and to present the company’s work across the UK and abroad.

The Lyceum is seeking to appoint up to four new Board Members and is looking for committed and dynamic individuals who are experienced in their professional sector.

We welcome all applications, and are particularly interested in hearing from people with knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

• Experience of managing Capital Projects and buildings
• Financial Management
• Commercial Theatre
• Youth work & Community engagement
• Development & Fundraising
• Marketing/ Audience engagement

While we are keen to attract individuals with a background and expertise in the entertainment sector and performing arts, this is not an essential requirement.

It is of vital importance that the Board is inclusive and diverse, and as such The Lyceum particularly encourages applications from individuals who have been historically underrepresented on boards due to age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith or belief, education, or socio-economic background. Please note that candidates who do not believe they fit the typical criteria required for board membership but feel passionately about the role are encouraged to apply regardless.

All Trustees volunteer their time to the Charity and the role is unremunerated, but reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.
