People Matters | Resilience in Times of Change and Challenge

Employment law is changing, perhaps in the most significant way in a generation.

In this Sector Insight, employment law specialist Barry Nichol, from Anderson Strathern Solicitors, will discuss where we are now with the progress of the transformative Employment Rights Bill and the key reforms including:

  • Day 1 rights including unfair dismissal
  • Reform of zero hour contracts
  • Enhanced maternity rights
  • Ban of “fire and rehire” practices
  • Creation of a Fair Work Agency
  • Right to disconnect
  • Trade Union reforms

Additionally, the culture sector in Scotland is facing challenging times. In uncertain times, future planning becomes even more necessary to ensure the sustainable future for your organisation.

As a result, this session will also look to explore ways in which your organisation can, in such uncertain times, seek to have resilient employment and HR policies and practices.

Who is it for?

This will be useful to anyone working in operations, recruitment or HR within the culture sector, and anyone who wants to keep up to date with the latest in employment law.
