Wasps Artists’ Studios seeks a Chair

Posted 23 September 2012

Wasps supports creative practice across Scotland, offering artists and other creative practitioners space, time and opportunity to experiment, make and engage.

It does this principally by developing, establishing and managing good quality, affordable studio space to enable artists and arts charities to carry out their work, and engage with the wider public. Approaching 1,000 creative practitioners are supported each year at 20 urban, rural and island locations.

Wasps takes an active role in rejuvenating redundant buildings in both city centre and rural locations.  It champions grass roots regeneration, bringing buildings back into use and reviving failing neighbourhoods.

The charity has recently completed a strategic review and now seeks a dynamic Chair to drive this process forward.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for the arts and strong leadership skills to guide the organisation during this exciting development in the organisation’s history.

The business of boards: The benefits of bringing fresh and diverse talent into culture boardrooms

When you picture the average boardroom, you might imagine a group of experienced professionals with long careers behind them – and of course, veterans in their fields have much to offer their respective boards.
