Collective are recruiting a trustee with accounting expertise, to provide support and oversight on the financial and commercial aspects of running a charity with a wholly owned trading subsidiary company.

A qualified accountant, this trustee would be expected to attend Finance Committee meetings in addition to Board meetings. Meetings are held quarterly in person at Collective’s premises on Calton Hill, Edinburgh, but virtual attendance by zoom is also possible.

The Finance Committee, on behalf of the Board, ensures that Collective has a robust framework for accountability, including examining and reviewing all systems and methods of control both financial and otherwise, including risk analysis and risk management; and for ensuring that Collective is complying with all aspects of the law, OSCR guidance, relevant regulations and good practice.

The Finance Committee liaises with the external auditors on the statutory audit and any tax or other accounting matters.

A small fund is available for individuals who need support in the completion of their written application. This fund could be used to support applicants who identify as having disabilities or caring responsibilities. Funds can be used toward costs such as additional support in the form of a scribe, proof-reader or assistant, childcare or support with care.
