Creative Engagement at Eden Court is founded by our core belief in cultural democracy; that everyone is an artist, and everyone we encounter has the skills and experiences to be creators of culture.
Eden Court’s Engagement department delivers creative arts projects, facilitates civic conversations and devises programmes of activity across the Highlands for people of all ages and abilities. Everything we do is imagined and delivered by our brilliant team as well as freelancers working across the Highlands and Moray.
We are currently seeking a project manager to develop and deliver CashBack Next Gen Creatives, a youth-led project for 12-16-year-olds to find their artistic outlet, have fun and express themselves. Working alongside industry professionals’ participants try out multiple disciplines including acting, dance and filmmaking. They then choose their own creative pathway where they develop their skills and build towards a showcase held at Eden Court.
Eden Court works with partner schools and community organisations to recruit young people who are at risk of coming into contact with the justice system. Participants work with a team of artist practitioners and are paired with a pastoral lead to support them throughout their journey. Through taking part in the programme participants build their confidence, make new friends and develop their creative and employability skills.
In addition to the main programme a smaller cohort takes part in a work experience placement at Eden Court over the summer where they gain real-world experience in a creative organisation. This project is funded by the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities.
