Description

Can you advocate for Scotland’s contemporary art community? We’re looking for someone to lead Scotland’s member-led network for contemporary art in our next stage. SCAN is recruiting a new Director to deliver our vision of a Scotland where everyone has the right, and the opportunity, to experience the benefits of contemporary art.

Our new Director will provide strategic and operational direction for SCAN at a key moment. The Director will listen to our membership and the wider sector and work in partnership to develop strategic and high impact advocacy, development and engagement activities, act as an advocate for contemporary visual art, and uphold the organisation’s values.

We are looking for a Director who, with the support of our board, staff, membership and partners, will ensure that artists, art professionals and art organisations are supported in their aims, valued for their contribution, and resourced for change. The role is suitable for someone who can bring knowledge of cultural work, commitment to change and the potential to respond to fast moving circumstances.

How to apply

Please send us an up to date CV, together with a two-page covering letter, telling us how you will deliver our strategic aims and sharing how your knowledge, skills and experience demonstrate that you would be a good fit for the role.

Please also complete an equal opportunities monitoring form (available on our website) and attach to the email with your application.

This information will be available when we interview in February 2025 and candidates will have the opportunity to discuss a range of work patterns and options.

We are happy to discuss this opportunity. If you want find out more, or discuss barriers, you can speak to a member of our board of trustees by emailing board@sca-net.org
