The 2012 Arts & Business Scotland Leadership Award sponsored by Chevron Upstream was awarded to Sir Angus Grossart. Sir Angus’s leadership is renowned in both business and the cultural spheres.

His principal business activity is as Chair of Noble Grossart Limited merchant bank though his financial and commercial interests are extensive.  He also is a Queens Counsel and holds many awards and honorary degrees.  Sir Angus has always been generous in sharing his financial, business and leadership skills with arts and heritage organisations, as well as encouraging philanthropic support for the arts.

Over the years he has served as a trustee – often taking on the role of Chair – of Scottish Opera, the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh International Film Festival the Heritage Lottery Fund, Glasgow Life and Dumfries House.

Of particular note is that this summer saw him complete his period as Chair of the National Museums Scotland, having led the museum through its award winning renovation.

Sir Angus continues to provide outstanding leadership to the arts and heritage sectors and Arts & Business Scotland is delighted to mark his outstanding achievements this evening.
