People Matters | Visas & Immigration for the Creative Sector

The visa options for workers, employers, promoters, agents and venues in the creative sector are far from straight forward.

A number of potential visa options are available for overseas workers to undertake activities in the UK. Mark Templeton, Solicitor and Head of Immigration at Anderson Strathern LLP, advises employers and employees on navigating the UK Immigration system to remain compliant with and utilise the system to secure a range of work visas.

In this webinar, Mark will cover the main options available for the sector, including:

  • The Visit visa:
    • Activities creative workers/performers from overseas can undertake in the UK as standard ‘visitors’
  • The Creative Worker visa:
    • How a UK company/organisation can sponsor a Creative Worker – applying for a UKVI Sponsor Licence
    • Requirements to obtain and conditions that apply when granted
  • The Skilled Worker visa:
    • How a UK company/organisation can sponsor a Skilled Worker – applying for a UKVI Sponsor Licence
    • Requirements to obtain and conditions that apply when granted
  • Right to Work laws:
    • Right to Work checks every employer must undertake to avoid financial penalties
Who is it for?

This will be useful to anyone working in operations, recruitment or HR within the culture sector, and anyone who wants to keep up to date with the latest in employment law.
