Sponsorship + VAT

Sponsorship + VAT implications are often overlooked or ignored. Join this session to learn how to achieve valuable VAT benefits and savings.

The VAT implications associated with sponsorship agreements are often overlooked or ignored. The arrangements can provide valuable VAT benefits and savings to cultural bodies, but they can also result in unbudgeted or additional costs if they are not recorded correctly.

In this Sector Insight, we will discuss and highlight the following areas:

  • The VAT liabilities and accounting procedures associated with different types of sponsorship, e.g. corporate memberships, in-kind arrangements and barters
  • The difference between sponsorship and grants
  • How contract terms can increase income
  • How sponsorship can increase the recovery of VAT
  • International sponsorship arrangements
  • The benefits of the arrangements to the sponsor
