We’re thrilled to present our new Members’ Forum: Taking the Lead on Net Zero. This is the first part in a series of events for C&BS Members, which will focus on the three pillars of sustainability – people, planet and prosperity.
The series is designed to bring industry leaders, experts and members of Culture & Business Scotland together to explore how the culture and business sectors are seeking to embed sustainability across their organisations.
With COP28 kicking off at the end of next month, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of inspirational presentations, success stories and sustainability strategies to help create more dialogue and collaboration on environmental issues.
The event programme will include two sessions followed by a Q&A, featuring presentation from:
- Ruth Gill, Director of Public Programmes at National Museums Scotland, who will share insights into various initiatives aimed at making the museums more environmentally friendly and their efforts to reach net zero.
- Dr Ben Twist, Director of Creative Carbon Scotland, will explore the different ways arts councils are addressing climate change and the importance of transformational change and opportunities in Scotland.
- Scott Mackay, Co-Founder/Executive Director of the Scottish Youth Film Foundation will showcase COP TV, a project in partnership with ScottishPower, bringing Scotland’s youth to the heart of a pivotal event and empowering them to share their voices globally.
- Hannah Schlesinger, Director of Development and Marketing at Edinburgh Science, will share insights into their efforts to tackle climate change, including TheNetZeroToolkit, a product of their Climate Co-Lab initiative, designed to assist businesses in reducing CO2 emissions.
- Tim Vincent-Smith and Matt Wright, Co-Directors of Pianodrome CIC, will discuss the creation of pioneering amphitheatre made entirely from up-cycled pianos, their initiatives and mission to inspire carbon-free entertainment.
- Special screening of ‘The Making of Symbiosis’ documentary, a collaborative climate change music project between SCO and Aviva Investors.
Continue the conversation over networking and drinks and we hope you’ll follow the path to net zero feeling more inspired!
