The Bollywood dancers recently performed a smash-hit run at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo followed by their signature performance ‘Bollywood Love Story’ at The Edinburgh Mela 2015.

A&BS Chief Executive David Watt said: “The Edinburgh Mela Bollywood Dancers perform with fantastic energy and passion and we’re delighted they will be entertaining our guests at the Arts & Business Scotland Awards in the New Year. The troupe has definitely made a name for itself following their performance at the Edinburgh Tattoo and we have no doubt they will add something very special to the Awards party.”

Chris Purnell, Director of the Edinburgh Mela added: ‘I’m delighted that the Mela is able to contribute to the A&BS Awards this year. 2015 has been an amazing year for us, thanks in no small part to the fantastic energy and professionalism of our ‘Bollywood dancers’. Their signature performance at the Mela in August was one of the highlights of the festival season – a great way to get any party started!’

The dancers were cast from the local community and enjoyed an exceptional summer with some headline performances alongside professional Bollywood dancers from Delhi. Plans are underway for the group to continue as the Mela’s own in-house dance troupe as part of the Mela family for years to come.

The A&BS Awards party will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Wednesday 3 February 2016. The evening will have an informal format including a drinks reception, hot buffet and after party. The Awards ceremony will be compèred by Janice Forsyth.
