A unique partnership programme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to inspire fundraising from private sources in the heritage sector gets underway tomorrow (Tuesday) in Fife.

Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage is a three year initiative led by Arts & Business Scotland with Archaeology Scotland, Built Environment Forum Scotland, greenspace scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland. This is the first time organisations from across the heritage sector have come together to deliver a co-ordinated package of support and capacity building. The project has been funded by a £452,200 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Delivery of the programme, which was officially launched at the end of last month, will this week get underway in Fife with the first training course ‘Make it Happen’, taking place in the Old Parish Centre, Cupar. Further courses will be held in Edinburgh, Kilmarnock and Inverness.

Project Manager for Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage Louise Trow said: “It’s fantastic to finally be at the delivery stage of Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage after so many months of planning and to do this in Fife which has such a diverse and thriving heritage sector is even better.

“We have worked hard to develop a tailored package of training which will benefit the sector and ensure sustainability for the future and we’re excited to bring ‘Make it Happen’ to Fife.”

This one-day course will raise awareness of the various funding sources available to heritage organisations and projects to help maximise fundraising and capacity building.
