Following the news of a major fire at the Glasgow School of Art’s Mackintosh Building – an A listed building considered to be among Scotland’s most iconic buildings – Arts & Business Scotland has offered its condolences.
Commenting on the fire, A&B Scotland’s chief executive David Watt said:
“The Board and staff at Arts & Business Scotland are shocked to hear that the iconic Mackintosh Building at the Glasgow School of Art has been ravaged by fire.
“Our architectural heritage and the artworks by current students awaiting assessment have been damaged and perhaps lost.
“Our thoughts are with the staff, students and all who have an affinity with this world class institution.”
