Membership organisation Arts & Business Scotland has revealed the shortlist that celebrates the country’s most creative partnerships.

The Arts & Business Scotland Awards will take place in Aberdeen Music Hall on Wednesday 30 October, where some of Scotland’s biggest businesses will compete for various awards including community engagement, work with young people and cultural branding.

Further awards will be announced on the night including the Leadership Award, the Enterprising Museum Award and two accolades specific to the area, the Made in Aberdeen: Emerging Talent Prize and the Aberdeenshire Creative Energy Award.

Chief executive David Watt welcomed the vast range of nominations representing the breadth of Scotland’s business landscape.

Mr Watt said: “Our Awards showcase Scotland’s brightest and best collaborations with arts organisations by not only the largest corporations, but also SMEs.  From the sheer volume and quality of nominations, it is clear that the business community is committed to utilising the skills of artistic companies to improve employee and community engagement.”

Arts & Business Scotland exists to provide a link between the two sectors, by promoting the benefits of sustainable relationships between business and culture.

Mr Watt continued: “Sustainable partnerships like the ones demonstrated in the shortlist help to embed cultural activity at the heart of the community and significantly contribute to making Scotland a creative, confident and forward looking nation.”
