In consultation with your business, our talented team of ensemble actors will produce a play which reflects and resonates with challenges and situations in your workplace. Subjects explored in Coaching for a Different Outcome can be anything from basic communication skills to health and safety or unconscious bias. We are completely open to suggestions that are relevant to you and your business!
In a drama workshop setting, your play is delivered by our own professional actors, with the audience made up of your staff. This practice – also known as Forum Theatre – aims to explore real scenarios in a way that empowers employees to rehearse solutions and change the outcome for the better. It both encourages audience interaction and explores different options for dealing with a problem or issue.
How does it work? The audience follows the journeys of the actors as they face a variety of challenges,
inspired by the real situations and challenges faced by your organisation. As scenarios are acted out, any member of the staff audience can shout ‘Stop!’ if they feel that actor has taken a wrong turning while dealing with a challenge. The staff member can then suggest or show the actor how they can change the situation to enable a different outcome; the other actors remain in character, improvising their responses. A facilitator will enable communication between the players and the audience by acting as a mediary, supporting the employee who says ‘Stop!’ to interject their suggestion, or leading the audience to be comfortable in their first ‘interruption’ of the scene if they aren’t comfortable yet with participating.
Workshops are bespoke in content, nature, and length depending on the client’s needs and preferences and will be developed in conjunction with a lead member of the business so the end product experience matches the company’s intended outcomes. Sessions can be full-day, half-day, or over multiple days. The topic/theme of the workshop will vary, but the resulting impact will always include a teambuilding experience for the employees, whether they’ve completed a health and safety training, diversity and sensitivity workshop, or communication skills exercises.
