Centre Stage Workshops

Beacon Arts Centre

Business needs served:

  • Improving staff health and wellbeing
  • Enhancing productivity in the workplace
  • Supporting teambuilding and improving dynamics in the workplace

Performing is in our DNA and our Centre Stage Workshops are designed to draw on and share performance techniques that will enable your teams to deliver powerful presentations that command a room, and appear confident in any work environment. Suitable for individuals working at all levels in an organisation, who want to improve their ‘stage presence’, our workshops are particularly relevant for staff already involved in making presentations to internal or external stakeholders, for those delivering customer services, or for individuals moving up the career ladder and needing support with this key phase of their professional development.

Your team will benefit from instruction and guidance from our creative industry experts, who’ll ensure that each person leaves armed with skills that will support productivity, confidence and team dynamics. Workshops will be tailored to your specific business and staff needs, can be delivered as half-day or full-day sessions, and will take place in our theatre spaces.

We’ll start by quickly breaking the ice with exercises typically used in the rehearsal room, then move onto vocal techniques with workouts that will help individuals find a voice they didn’t know they had, along with physical techniques that will enable them to command an audience and build positive body language. Along the way, we’ll provide tips for overcoming stage fright and for turning your inner critic into your inner coach!

Moving onto the technical side of things, next we bring in lights, sound and projecting, supporting participants to take the skills they’ve gained earlier to the next level by rehearsing the delivery of ideas like seasoned, professional public speakers and truly taking ‘centre stage’.

We are the Beacon, a contemporary theatre and arts venue in the heart of Inverclyde… and a whole lot more besides.

At the Beacon, we offer a safe and inspiring place in which to connect and share new experiences through shows and activities that inspire and delight, sometimes challenge, and always entertain. From staging national productions to showcasing local talent, and from hosting theatre-based workshops to dance classes and a whole host of activities and events, we offer something for everyone. We’re proud that over a third of people in Inverclyde have used us and, for visitors from further afield, our proximity to the M8 and the Erskine Bridge ensures we are easily accessible.

We believe that cultural experiences are crucial to the wellbeing of individuals and communities. That’s why our mission is to make a lasting impact and ‘light up lives’ by giving as many people as possible opportunities to engage with the arts in enjoyable and meaningful ways. We achieve this through our fantastically diverse programme and our innovative outreach and engagement work which provides opportunities for people of all ages to explore their creativity as performers, artists or storytellers.
